These are photos of just a few different Marimekko meeting and product display rooms at the Marimekko office. As I said, Marimekko fabrics and patterns surround you – you can’t help but be energized by the vibrant prints all around.

Well, technically we’re starting outside. I took the Helsinki Metro (the northern most in the world) from our hotel to Marimekko headquarters – just a quick 15 minute ride from the center of Helsinki. The exterior is pretty unassuming (although, that photo is not very good), but once inside you are struck with the vibrancy and life of Marimekko design.

Finland’s Olympic team was led by flag-bearer Juha Hirvi during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The female athletes on Finland’s Olympic team are proudly dressed in the Marimekko Pisaroi (drops) pattern – available at AlwaysMod in an umbrella, mini-umbrella and rain poncho.

Marimekko will unveil its 2009 spring/summer line at Gallery International Fashion Fair in Copenhagen on Thursday, 7 August at 3.00 p.m. The show will introduce Marimekko’s new flirty, nature-inspired designs, and is sure to be a memorable event. The image above is an example of one dress intended for the spring line.

Fashion designer, Samu-Jussi Koski does it again! He rocks the Fall/Winter 2008-09 collection for Marimekko! The Mari girl hasn't looked this groovy in a long time! I am so looking forward to Fall! There are a few pieces in this collection that definitely have my name written all over them.
