Antifeatures in Windows and Vista Media Server

    http://www.geekzone.co.nz/ foobar/ 5101

Recently, I discussed how Windows Vista Media Center on purpose does not follow your orders under some circumstances. If certain broadcasters set a special bit in their transmission, the software simply refuses to record the program. That's DRM for y... (more in the full post)

@Make: Introducing AutoLink for Movable Type 4

    http://www.majordojo.com/ 2008/ 05/ make-introducing-autolink-for-movable-type-4…

Make is brand I adore because it teaches us in its many ways that the best way to understand something is to take it apart, and in some cases to build something else in its place. As a hacker, this is something that is profoundly resonate with me as often it is the only way I can understand something.

By the transitive property, open source is soylent green?

    http://www.oblogn.com/ 2008/ 05/ 21/ by-transitive-property-open-source-is-soyle…

Well, I know Matt says: “open source is all about…people” in this fabulous video he produced, but MHinkle made the soylent green reference and I’m trying to make use of that Discrete Math class I took in college that I don’t get much use out of now that I’m in management.

More Tech Radium v. Blackboard, Inc.

    http://mfeldstein.com/ more-tech-radium-v-blackboard-inc/

I conferred with Jim Farmer on new patent infringement suit and a few interesting points came out: Tech Radium is suing Blackboard for violating three patents, some but not all of which are education-specific. This may or may not matter to you, depending on how you feel about software patents in general versus edupatents in particular.

Data Center Fight Club - Not the whole story

    http://techhermit.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 21/ dc-fight-club-not-whole-story/

I love reading Data Center Knowledge, it is by far and away one of the best sources of information about the data center space.  The recent blog about Oracle’s new facility in Utah (drawing from a Wall Street Journal article found here) highlighted the much vaunted rules of the Data Center Fight

    Web 2.0

    http://siegelinnovations.blogspot.com/ 2007/ 12/ web-20.html

Our world today is being transformed and shaped by the "Information Age" we are in, but the human factor is now shaping the "machine". Sharing files, blogs, ideas, photos, building and developing on others works, and much more is allowing the doors to open, and online culture to expand in the square box we have incorporated into our culture.

UK schools to become more open-source friendly

    http://www.geekzone.co.nz/ foobar/ 5098

Officials in the UK traditionally have chosen software from Microsoft, and have earned a lot of criticism for this over the years. Now we hear that purchasing decisions for schools will be made differently there. Specifically, open source companies w... (more in the full post)

propertrack.com at last on Google for ‘Malaysia Property’ …but on page 7. -:( To reach out and gain more exposure from Internet community, it take a lot of hard work and time. Especially taking one big consideration that your products and services are very much like hot market for newbies.

    PHPShield revisited

    http://www.christopher-kunz.de/ archives/ 169-PHPShield-revisited.html

A couple weeks ago, I blogged about PHPshield’s anonymous website, raising more than an eyebrow to the ominous business practices of hiding the true owner’s identity while selling a whitelabelled product. To my great relief, Adrian responded quickly back then, but to my dismay it seemed like he was only paying lip service.
