Recently, on the Issues, Etc. Radio Program, Pastor Todd Wilken, the host, and Jeff Schwarz, the producer, went over answers to questions as to why their radio show was canceled. Those answers were given by David Strand, the LCMS Executive Director on the Board for Communication Services. Issues, Etc.

Pastor Wilken comments and takes calls on an interview by Bill Moyers’ with the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katharine Jefferts Schori. She sounds like a nice aunt except what she says contradicts orthodox Christianity.

Pastor Wilken talks about two recent definitions of liberalism and conservatism that he ran across. Not in the issue by issue sense, but the in assumptions they hold. Pastor Wilken discusses the liberal notion that the past is guilty until proven innocent.

Those who play the Pharisee Card hope to dismiss Christians like you and me as ultra-conservative doctrinal purists with no love for the lost. But like a fifth Ace up the sleeve, the Pharisee Card is a cheat. Those who play it ignore the real errors of the real Pharisees.
