The technology and buzz keep on coming in the netbook space, which consists of lower-cost, smaller-size notebook computers (many of them Linux-based) that are as much like a smartphone as they are like a PC. One of the most exciting develoments this week was Dell’s introduction of its first line of netbooks to come with both WindowsXP and Ubuntu Linux.

VoIP Like You Give a Damn

    http://gigaom.com/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ voip-like-you-give-a-damn/

When I checked out Google’s blog post Tuesday about its Free the Airwaves project, which aims to convince the FCC to approve the use of the white spaces between the spectrum vacated by analog television channels for broadband access, I saw it offered the ability to phone your Congressman.

So you think it’s the FCC’s order telling Comcast not to block P2P applications? Not so, according to Harold Feld of the Media Access Project. It’s actually Comcast’s settlement with the Florida Attorney General.

    Metered Broadband In US Market

    http://telecompk.net/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ metered-broadband-in-us-market/

We are used to seeing the “caps” on broadband usage in Pakistan. Internet providers limit bandwidth to a cap of say 2GB. Consumers have to pay for any usage over the imposed limit. Based on the comments here and at other forums, it is obvious that Pakistani consumers often do not like these metered plans - who wants to worry about keeping track of your bandwidth all the time?

Be sure to check out one of TMC's latest blogs -- Cable Content Connection written by Dave Rodriguez -- TMC VP of conferences and publications. One of Dave's entries which caught my eye was titled McCain gets better rating then the Oscars and Obama?. If you are into election primary ratings it is worth a read.

    60 Crucial IP Communications Interviews

Whenever I go to a conference, I learn a tremendous amount from the people I meet at the show. I really enjoy the impromptu networking which takes place at events as it allows me to learn so much about what is happening in the market. Ironically, I generally learn things I didn't think I would learn ahead of time.

    You can stop now

    http://www.iamlivid.com/ 2008/ 09/ 05/ you-can-stop-now/

OK, following my attempt to prove that I am at least twenty times better than BT Broadband, you can now all stop in your efforts to help children in distress. I have made $121.50 in the last 7 days, and will transfer this money to childline (and put up a picture of it).  Below is the page from my Google account.
