    http://veronicaromm.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 12/ 03/ megan-meier-internet-hoax-victi…

December 3, 2008 Social networking and it’s pros and cons have been debated since the popularity of such sites as Myspace, Facebook and Twitter have increased and become part of the new Internet age. The Megan Meier’s story is particularly disturbing and has all the elements that are facilitating an adolescent epidemic of risk taking and poor judgment.

Welcome To A More Reliable Twitter; New Platform Fixes Stability, Scaling Problems

    http://techpulse360.com/ 2008/ 12/ 03/ a-more-reliable-twitter-new-platform-fixe…

Twitter has almost become as well-known for its outages than for its short message service. But when was the last time you heard that Twitter was down? Not for awhile, right? Which makes me think that the San Francisco, Calif., based micro-blogging site stability problems may now be something of the past.

    Google Office

    http://vanirsystems.com/ danielsblog/ 2008/ 12/ 03/ google-office/

Random thought: If the Google Docs system interfaced directly with your hard drive (but still through the browser, potentially running locally) would you use it over OpenOffice / Microsoft Office? I think it might be quite good. I’ve used Google Docs quite a lot recently, but find it a bit of a nuisance the files aren’t directly on my hard drive.

You can't give yourself a nickname

    http://technomarketer.typepad.com/ technomarketer/ 2008/ 12/ you-cant-give-y.htm…

When I was in college, I had a boss who had a massive prejudice against anyone who attempted to give themselves a nickname. You've probably heard people do this in a conversation that looks like this (please picture the guy to the right): That Guy: Hey there! Do you mind if I join in your pickup game? You: Not at all.
