The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the staple Android 4.0 tablet, being the first out of the gates, regardless of how many problems there may or may not have been with the launch. Starting on January 12th 2012, the Transformer Prime will start to receive it's Android 4.0 ICS upgade, as it was shipped with Honeycomb out of the box.

But what about all those who grabbed the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer last year, specifically those who got it over the last holiday season at discounted prices? Shouldn't they get Android 4.0 as well? ASUS thinks they should, and on their facebook page, they stated their intentions;

ICS 4.0 will be coming to existing Eee Pad Transformer TF101. Exact date TBC but we are working on making the FOTA update available a.s.a.p. after Jan 12th launch with Prime TF201

Great to see they are following up with their promises.
