Does Motorola + Verizon + Android = iPad Competitor?

The Financial Times is reporting today that Motorola has partnered with Verizon to develop an Android-based tablet that will allow users to watch TV on it via Veriozon's FiOS pay service. Motorola is already manufacturing the TV set-top boxes for FiOS.

Support for FiOS will give the rumored tablet a big leg up on the iPad, as it will allow users to watch live television shows on the device. Other advantages over the iPad include native Flash support (the iPad went with HTML 5 support instead), and support for Verizon's hotspot feature, which allows users to convert the tablet into a portable hotspot that other users can connect to the Internet through.

The tablet, which will have a 10-inch screen, is rumored to be launching as soon as this fall in the US. Now if we can just get some spy shots...
