Instagram Coming Soon to Android Devices

Many fans of the iPhone have been able to keep their head held high against Android users for having an app for iOS that is wildly popular. Instagram has been such a huge success on iOS that it's already passed 27 million registered users, which is up from 20 million last month. That's a massive increase in userbase.

In Austin, Texas at the SWSX event going on right now until March 18th 2012, Instagram Co-Founder Kevin Systrom made a statement that Android lovers should take special note of. It's been known for a while that Instagram would be coming to Android, but the timeframe was never mentioned. At SWSX, Systrom said that it will be hitting Android devices "really soon", while showing the crowd a running beta version on his Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Believing is seeing for Android lovers, and Systrom delivered.

It would be great of "really soon" was executive speak for "this month"!
