There's been many Android users who have been jealous of iOS because of a very popular app they have called Instagram. Instagram, if you haven't heard, is the photo editing and social sharing app which originally launched for iPhones and iPod Touch devices a couple of years back. Since the launch, the app has seen huge growth. One doesn't need a University degree to realize that if you have your app on one platform, and another (in this case Android) is catching up to popularity, it would be wise to get your app on that platform as well.

Instagram has realized this, but it sure seems to be taking a long time to get that app launched for Android. We heard a few months ago from Instagram Co-Founder Kevin Systrom, that Instagram would come to Android, but no dates were given for release. The wait may be coming to an end for Android, as the Instagram for Android sig up page is now live.

You can go to the Source link below and register your email address to be alerted when Instagram is ready for download. The notice after you complete the sign up, as seen above, says "We'll be in touch soon!" That must be a little more of a comforting thought to Android users. Sure there are other photo sharing apps for Android, like Flickr or Photoshop, but neither have the user base and ease of functionality like Instagram does. It will be a day to remember.
