Leaked Android "Ice Cream Sandwich": Fake or Not?
The next version of Google Android is slated to be release at the last quarter of 2011. However some luck users/developer/android owner was able to get a hold of the next version of Android mobile OS and they even leaked a number of screen shots online.
This is not a rumor or a mock-up UI of the upcoming version of Android Mobile OS bearing the codename: "Ice Cream Sandwich". Well at least that what Androidpolice and RootzWiki are saying. According to the leaked screen shot, the next version of Android will feature a new launcher and the notification bar will be getting a face-lift.
Another changes that is also noticeable is that the blue colored theme and an app tray that will most like where app that are running in the background will be kept, think of this as the system tray of Windows or the Dock like on iOS or Mac.
Other details that were mentioned by RootzWiki and Androidpolice that are not seen on the leaked photos are:
- Camera has built in panorama mode
- re-themes Gmail, that will match the blue colored theme of the OS
- Will include Google Shopper and support for NFC Enabled devices
- embedded Google search bar on similar to Honeycomb
- Nexus Prime will be the first device to get the update
- Nexus S will also received the update
- Apps/Widgets launcher a lot like Honeycomb
The screenshot however did not clarify if the version will be 4.0 or 2.4, but that's not going to matter to the average consumer and whether these screen shot are fake or not, what is important is when it will be release and if previously owner of android phones will be getting the updates or not.
