Lenovo IdeaTab S2 Android Tablet Takes on ASUS Transformer at CES

Competition can be stiff, especially in the tablet markets. At CES 2012 in Las Vegas, Lenovo has made a few heads turn with their next set of devices, this time with the Lenovo IdeaTab S2. The IdeaTab S2 resembles a devices we all have grown to love, the ASUS Eee Pad Tranformer and Transformer Prime with it's keyboard dock. The IdeaTab S2 clearly was designed to try and dive into the Android tablet market with the Transformer in its' targeting sights. With the keyboard dock addition, there's no doubt Lenovo is out for blood...or at the very least, more tablet money.
The Lenovo IdeaTab S2 has a few other specs to get excited about, which include the following;
- 1/3 inch thickness
- 1.1 lbs (tablet only)
- 10 inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolution
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS
- 1.5 GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon Dual-Core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 2 full USB 2.0 ports (with dock connected)
- SD card slot (with dock)
- 20 hours battery life when connected to keyboard dock
Not bad at all. Knowing Lenovo devices, this will likely be marketed with a relatively cheaper price tag compared to other Android tablets on the market. It may not be as powerful as the Transformer Prime, but it is very similar to the original Transformer Tablet, which is still a hot seller.
