New Acer Iconia Tab A700 Pictured With Tegra 3 Quad-Core
After Acer told the public they were leaving the tablet game in 2012, there was a retraction soon after that Acer would in fact stay in the tablet manufacturing business. This news will probably make a few budget hunters and bargain shoppers happy as the Acer Iconia Tab A700 has made its first online debut with the picture you see above.
The Acer Iconia Tab A700 will be the successor to the somewhat successful Iconia Tab A500 and A501, which were decent selling items in the grand scheme of Android tablet devices for 2011. The A700 will have the latest NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, giving some competition to the currently released ASUS Transformer Prime. Also expected to make an appearance on the A700 is a USB, or the very least a micro-USB port, micro-HDMI, 5 megapixel camera on the backside with an "HD-compatible" front facing camera. The battery will be a 9800mAh giving it some extended life, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed. The best part of these new specs of the A700 however is the 1900 x 1200 display resolution, which would be the first on the market for 2012 to boast a display this dense.
It will be interesting how the tablet market turns out with the different successes from 2011, and new specs to impress in 2012. All that said however, Acer is sure to make a few sales of the A700 tablet with the specs listed above already, as being early in the game of Tegra 3 devices will give its' advantages.
