Those who have a Samsung Nexus S smartphone have been told that they would be getting Android 4.0 ICS updates rolling sometime in 2012, but since the Android 4.0 debut, we haven't heard much about the update since. Thankfully, some Google Employees who own Nexus S devices have begun to see 'Over The Air' updates fly down to their respective devices for Ice Cream Sandwich treats.

Google staff are typically the first to beta test new digs from Google, and give it the old 'Road Test' if you will, putting it in daily real-time use. This is great news for anyone who was drooling over the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus device but either don't have the cash or the free upgrade to grab it when it drops in a couple weeks time. If the staffers are testing it, that means Google is holding true to their word that Nexus S devices will be seeing the Android 4.0 upgrade sooner than later! Now that the Nexus S devices can be picked up for free at virtually any carrier outlet (on contract), it may be the device to grab instead of the Galaxy Nexus, for the time being.
