About two years ago, HTC, Google, and T-Mobile took the first step in the Android revolution when the G1 started shipping. Two years on, Android has grown in market share faster than any other mobile OS, hardware offerings have exploded, the OS has improved continually, and HTC and T-Mobile shipped the G1's successor, the G2. And today it goes on sale, making T-Mobile's best Android-based, keyboard-equipped phone that much more accessible.

As in: available to anyone with fifty bucks and the ability to take a two year contract.

If you've checked out the G2, you know this is a screaming deal. Where else can a fifty buy you a phone that comes with Android 2.2 Froyo, supports 4G (yes people, 4G), and has a 5 MP camera, high-resolution screen, Wi-Fi calling support (that's UMA to the geeks), HD video capability and an 8 GB memory card? Nowhere, nowhere I tell you!

It's an online only deal, and it only lasts until December 20 at 2PM, but it's one that any T-Mobile user and fan of the mighty Android needs to think long and hard about. OK - that's long enough.

Go cop one now, and get free overnight shipping to boot.
