As promised weeks ago, SlingMedia and AT&T saved the release of the SlingPlayer Mobile iPhone application with 3G streaming support into the iTunes App Store for the start of the Mobile World Congress for maximum exposure, giving those already gifted with the $200-300 device that enables remote access to your television the ability to catch up on "Antiques Roadshow" while on the road, away from Wi-Fi access.

Of course, the antique in question on the show you're watching on your iPhone just might be your iPhone once an anticipated iPad version and/or update of the SlingPlayer Mobile app hits the street.  If it's possible to stream your PBS fix to your slate at something approximating 1024x768 HD quality (even if only by Wi-Fi), what will you need an iPhone for?

(What's that?  "Phone calls"?  Do people still do that?)
