It is widely believed that when you are a celebrity, your life is public. Irrespective of general perception and popular concepts, I always believe that privacy is one of the fundamental rights of every human being. Particularly in this era of enhanced social networking, the need of privacy is felt more than ever before. Today, a dramatic event occurred that has started this debate once again. Randi Zukerberg; ex-marketing head of Facebook and sister of Mark Zukerberg, published a family photo on her Facebook timeline. A subscriber of Zukerberg; Callie Schweitzer, assuming the photo to be a public one, tweeted to her around 40,000 Twitter followers.

According to Forbes, Zukerberg was not pleased with this and immediately exchanged few tweets with Callie Schweitzer, who removed the photo later on. However, BuzzFeed got that photo and published it on one of its posts. Zukerberg family is apparently not happy with this development and perceives this as a breach of privacy. Ms Zukerberg tweeted “not sure where you got this photo. I posted it to friends only on FB. You reposting it to Twitter is way uncool”. Though the tweets were deleted later, but you can access them in the image as well as in Kashmir Hill’s article in Forbes. Finally, we see a tweeted advice from Ms Zukerberg on her Twitter account, which says: “Digital etiquette: always ask permission before posting a friend's photo publicly. It's not about privacy settings, it's about human decency”.

Interestingly, the founding family has to face similar problem before. In 2009, Mark Zukerberg himself fell prey to these privacy confusions, when his profile elements and photos went public.
