Angry Birds will soon be available on the gaming console as Rovio is working on Angry Birds trilogy for consoles including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available on one disc or on a cartridge for 3DS. This new version could become another huge success by the Rovio after achieving the milestone of 1 billion downloads of its game at different platforms.
This version of trilogy will contain the original Angry Birds game, Seasons and Rio, but Angry Birds Space is not available. It could be a strategy of the company to launch the Angry Birds Space on consoles after sometime to get another boost of inspiration from fans.
The games have been "built from the ground up" specifically by considering HDTVs as said by Petri Järvilehto, Rovio's Executive Vice President of Games. According to Järvilehto, this new version of the game will come with some additional features specially designed for cinematic experience with high resolution graphics. Each level will come with an individual leaderboards.
"The backgrounds have been animated, we've added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on," Jarvilehto said. "We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms."
Moreover, Kinect support will be offered in Xbox 360, PS Move support will be offered in the PlayStation 3 and 3DS will come with StreetPass.
"There have been so many fans asking to be able to play the game on their home console with their friends and family, and so far we haven't been able to offer anything to them," he said. "Now we're finally able to have a great high quality experience on those platforms."
Some of the details are not clear such as whether the game can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Live MarketPlace or not and what will be the pricing scheme for the new version.
