Anyone For Apple & Blackberry Crumble?

What is the dominant power in today's society? What defines the behavior of the younger generation? What will become celebrated in history as the key influencer on the way we consume, act upon information and base the decisions that we make in everyday life? As little as fifty years ago this sway was debatably in the hands of Government leaders. The general consensus was that the diametrically opposed ideologies of East and West would be battled out in parliaments and that nations would assume the position that a gaggle of national politicians, self interest aside of course, felt would best benefit their homelands economic position. Fifty years ago there was little doubt that the ideological cornerstones of Democracy and Socialism would dominate humankind for the foreseeable future and that should our leaders fail in their policy making we shouldn't worry, as some dude called God would forgive them and make everything cool again. But how long will this historic rhetoric endure and did our guardians bet correctly on the effects of technology, on the all seeing eye that is the rightfully capitalized Internet, evermore omnipresent though it's mobilization?
In this age of Globalization is it not the mobile Internet that stands loftily above the regional, ideological and religious discrepancies of nations? In it's right hand the ubiquitous mobile Internet carries the scepter of capitalism that is e-commerce, driving international trade and leveling exchange rates faster than political pundits can say "double dip recession". And in it's left hand, the glistening orb of social media fostering the collective consciousness, a synthesis of user generated content, crowd sourced ideals and that most relied upon of all opportunities - the friend recommendation.
Google's big play for peoples hearts and minds is about to be made though its entertainment channel and surreptitious command of the Android smartphone market. The search giant is about to leverage the reach of You Tube making sound recordings super easy to access in a move that both technology and music industry hacks debate could destabilize iTunes, establishing You Tube as the default destination for all things audio as well as video. Wait a minute, from the core ideologies of humankind and socio-economic influences to Google's music policy, you sure?
