Apple Planning New York Media Event In January

In true Apple fashion, a highly closed-lipped event is being planned for sometime in January 2012. Also, as usual, Apple will have no presence at the CES event in Las Vegas mid January, not like they need to either. With most of Apple competitive manufacturers touting their latest greatest gadgets at the CES show, fighting for recognition and press, Apple rides in on a white horse on it's own major headlines, and steals the show from CES. This year won't be any different regarding the method to which Apple delivers it's announcement, but it will differ by what Apple is delivering.
Apple most likely will not be letting us in on any new iPad models, nor any news about the highly anticipated and questionable 'Apple Smart TV'. Rather, All Things D is reporting that, Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue is involved in the media planning. For that reason, it is believed that the event will not be hardware related at all, but rather centered around media publishing which may include iTunes App Store, iCloud services and anything advertising related.
We can't say for sure what will be the main area of focus, but as usual, we'll all be drooling to find out just what Apple has in store for us, regardless of what gadgets will be on display at CES.
