ASUS Transformer Prime Shipping from TigerDirect Canada, Delayed from Best Buy U.S.
The day draws near for the elite many who pre-ordered the ASUS Transformer Prime Android tablet. As many were disappointed to hear that ASUS were cancelling and delaying many of the pre-orders, a hint of good news comes to some, and then bad news for others yet again. Would you prefer the Good news first, then the bad? Okay, we'll start with the good.
TigerDirect was one of the many retailers in Canada with the option to Pre-order the Transformer Prime, and despite difficulties from other stores to honor their Pre-orders after ASUS started delaying shipments, TigerDirect held true to their customers, and the first wave of shipments is on its way to their doors. Bummer for anyone who didn't pre-order from TigerDirect I guess. The shipment is scheduled to arrive for most this Wednesday December 21st 2011 through to Friday December 23rd 2011.
Now with the bad news. ASUS had reported that the delays in shipping the Transformer Prime were only affecting Canadian retailers at the time, and that the U.S. stores were still in fact on schedule. Word now comes from BestBuy that the delay is affecting their stock as well, and that they will be cancelling some of the pre-orders due to low stock available. Those customers who are getting their order cancelled are the recipients of a $10 BestBuy gift card (
big deal) for their trouble, along with the option to pre-order again, with the lowered expectation that it will not arrive until possibly the new year. Now that...is a bummer.
