BlackBerry Announces New Flagship Phone Z10
BlackBerry has announced their newest flagship smartphone, the Z10, at the company's BlackBerry event earlier today, according to a report.
The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone is BlackBerry's first all-touch phone that'll make use of the company's newest and latest operating system, the BlackBerry 10.
Details-wise the Z10 offers some decent features and specs that includes a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.2-inch touch display with a 1280 x 768 resolution at 356 pixels per inch, 16GB of on board storage, 2GB of RAM, and removable microSD card with up to 64GB of memory. It has an 1800mAh removable battery and also offer an image and video stabilization feature.
Other specs for the Z10 will also include an 8MP auto-focus back-facing camera with flash and 5X digital zoom, 2MP fixed-focus front-facing camera with 3X digital zoom, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (LE), and is capable of up to 4G LTE. The device is also capable of 1080p video recording.
Additionally, the BlackBerry Z10 offers an on-screen BlackBerry keyboard that features contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction, and a personalized learning engine that gets to know the way you type. Its size dimensions are 130 x 65.6 x 9 mm. It weighs 137.5g (4.85oz).
Meanwhile, some of the interesting pre-loaded apps on the Z10 includes the BlackBerry World, BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Maps, Docs To Go, Story Maker, Voice Control, Connect for Dropbox, BlackBerry Messenger, Adobe Reader, File Manager, Games, Weather Clock, Calculator, Compass, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Pictures, Movies, Videos, BlackBerry Remember, BlackBerry Newsstand, Contacts, Text Messages, BlackBerry Calendar, BlackBerry Browser, and Camera/Video Camera Time Shift.
As far as the security goes for the Z10, it has a feature called BlackBerry Balance which offer dedicated profiles to keep work and personal data separate and secure. The device also has a Password protection, screen lock and sleep mode.
The BlackBerry Z10 will be available in the coming weeks, according to BlackBerry. BlackBerry Q10, the first BlackBerry phone with QWERTY keyboard using the new BlackBerry 10 platform, was also unveiled today by Blackberry, as well as the BlackBerry 10 OS platform itself. The Q10 will be available a month after the Z10 comes out, according to the company.
