Blog Focus is Technorati's daily roundup of the top stories as told by the bloggers of the world. Each day a handful of posts, no matter how popular or nascent, will be selected by editors to portray a general unscientific reaction to discussion points around the 'Net.

Your holiday shopping has you drained already, even if you haven't picked up a credit card in anger yet.  You know it; the blogs know it.  Therefore, they've put together a list of software you can download for free for friends and family.

Of course, most of it has no utility for the general public or is still just a rumor.  But still.  Free!  The blogs know that's all you want to hear on a Friday.  Well, that and "happy hour", but you're on your own for wings.

Download Squad — Is Firefox coming to the PS3? Sebastian Anthony has heard it's possible.

Gear Diary — Allistair Lee notes that Office Mobile 2010's time-limited beta is now available to join its desktop beta version.

Engadget — Not done downloading?  How about the Microsoft Surface SDK?  Vladislav Savov finds out you can turn your kitchen table into a magic box of joy by building your own apps for it!  (Note: kitchen table must be a Microsoft Surface table.)

Mashable! — Of course, if you want to pay for software, you can buy Windows 7.  According to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (as reported by Stan Schroeder), everyone else is, leading to record sales.
