Can You Measure Disruption in Degrees? - Page 2
Disruption proves to be a challenge for the tablet and smartphone world whether you are running Android, iOS or even the new Windows OS. The differences are not nearly as significant as the respective developers would like us to believe. Any truly disruptive innovations would have to address a need felt by a wide number of users. Upgrading the speed of a processor or quality of a camera just doesn’t cut it. The truth is, the most significant innovations to smartphones and tablets could be outside of the hands of hardware developers. Currently, network issues such as poor call quality, dead zones and slow connections plague nearly all device owners. The first device or network provider that can address these fundamental concerns will be able to write their own paycheck, provided they can offer the technology at a reasonable price.
I am curious to know your thoughts on the matter. Do you think there have been any truly innovative changes to the tablet and smartphone market in the past year? Where do you see disruptive innovations coming from in the future?
