Firefox 3.6.4 Addresses Plugin Issues
Yesterday, as we reported, Mozilla rolled out a new version of Firefox: Firefox 3.6.4.
Aside from the security vulnerabilities detailed in yesterday's article, it also contains a number of important updates to protect against sudden crashes due to plugin failures.
This new version should provide uninterrupted browsing for Windows and Linux users. Now, should there be a plugin crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins, it should not affect the rest of Firefox. You will be able to reload the page to restart the plugin and try again.
A complete list of changes for this version is listed at the Firefox site. All users are advised to upgrade, which you can do by going to Help > Check for Update, and Mozilla will prompt you to download the latest update and follow the on-screen instructions
You can also download it directly here.
