Google is Preparing Offline Access to Google Docs

Google Docs users will soon be able to access their Google Docs files even when they don't have an Internet connection or in offline mode.
Senior Vice President of Google Pichai Sunday confirms that Google will soon allow offline access to Google Docs. But he doesn't says when this will be available.
"We've all been using it internally," said Pichai. "We want to make sure they're good." Pichai Sunday said as quoted from CNN, Friday (05/20/2011).
According to him, the offline access will be very useful for the users while in transit such as on planes or trains without Internet access. Thus, they can still work on documents or files without an internet connection.
The fact that this new feature is coming out now, though, seems to make it much more likely that the focal point here is the impending launch of Google's computer operating system Chrome OS. It will use Google Docs as the default suite of office software, so the ability to access it anytime, anywhere is paramount.
