Google Maps Returns to iPhones - Page 2
Well, Google Maps is back, at least for iPhones. Yes, I know, it will work on iPads, too, if you expand it to fit the screen. But that's so gauche. Let the festivities begin! Snap the new Google Maps for iPhones app up up while it's still hot - in fact, it's already been snapped up, so many times it's the #1 app in the iTunes Store.
Google has upgraded the clarity of their maps, and thrown in Business Photos to boot, so you can figure out whether a particular restaurant has the ambience you desire to pop the question. Because dude, 2012 is about to end, and she's been waiting forever. C'mon.
Perhaps if Apple had decided to drop the mapping bomb with Google six months before the release of iOS6, to let them know they would be replacing the app, things would've been different. We'd all have one less technological lash on our backs to bear for life. Google could've been given the time to put together a free-standing app, and we'd all have had a choice in September. GoogleMapageddon averted.
Oh, for a time machine.... I could've snapped up all of the Twinkies....
Anyway, Google Maps is here. Rush to the Apple iTunes store and download the app, because you only have 8 days left to determine your egress routes before the Mayan Apocalypse. When you'll be hunkered down in the mountains, hiding from the zombies while watching your iPhone's battery wind down for the last time, wishing you had popped the question in that restaurant. And no more Twinkies to help tide you over.
Well played, Mayans. Well played.
