Google's New Sidebar Looks Like Bing's

Google is testing a new interface for its main product, Google Search. Recently in October, Google added a "Search Options" panel in a sidebar. After this most recent update, the entire look of Google search will change.

As you can see in the screenshot, the new interface lets you narrow your search to various types of content like images, books, news, and maps, similar to Bing's user interface.

Recently Bing gained 10 percent of the search market share in the United States. It seems that with combining technology from Farecast and Powerset,  Microsoft's strategy to acquire the two companies has worked in their favor.
