How iOS 5 is Boosting Signups For Twitter

If you are now using iOS 5 and were not a Twitter user prior to this new update released by Apple last week, chances are you are now. In fact, since the Twitter integration in iOS 5, Twitter sign ups have tripled, says Twitter CEO Dick Costolo.
In June, Twitter surpassed 200 million tweets per day, but has since jumped to nearly 250 million tweets per day. This growth is astonishing considering that in January 2011, [only 11 months ago!] Twitter had 100 million tweets per day.
Twitter now has 100 million monthly active users and 50% of them log in every day.
Since Apple blessed Twitter with integration, it's too easy not to tweet!
Twitter has been the "other" social network that has seemed very scary and confusing to so many people that they haven't even bothered with it until now. Now that Apple is letting their consumers know how important Twitter is [It must be, right? Or why else would Apple have integrated it into their new operating system?] usage is sky rocketing.
The iOS 5 integration allows users to sign into their Twitter account once and then tweet with a single tap from Apple’s applications — Camera, Photos, Safari, Contacts, YouTube and Maps — and third-party applications that support the single sign-on capability. It is the easiest way to share everything that is happening in your world, if you so choose to do so.
