Curating content is all the rage these days, both in the professional and personal sense. Digital marketers are creating content at a furious pace and one could argue that parents are also doing the same. If you’re kid was born in the past 10 years or so, their entire lives are have been captured in pictures and videos.

So whether you’re a professional or personal content curator, there are a variety of ways that curating content can be less of a daunting task and make it simple, secure and shareable.

Keeping It Simple

Digital photography makes it so easy to be able to rip off a zillion pictures that organizing them has become just as important as getting the “right shot.”

Look at some free and paid applications on the market that will allow you to organize your digital files by year, month, day and then title. Additionally, look to use meta tags in the description of the files so you can search for specific items.

Are you working on a new schematic for a client project that includes model renderings? And, is part of the process presenting these images to the client? Well, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to find these images quickly by searching for the client’s name and the “type” of shot?

The organizational software on the market is getting better and better in terms of user interface and search capabilities. Best part is that most paid software allows you to give it a test run in trial mode. It’s best to try out a variety of applications until you come across one you like and are comfortable with.
