Apple let the latest iOS beta loose on the development community on Monday, releasing iOS 5.1. As per usual fashion, whenever the latest beta is released and available, developers start digging to find references to the next generation of Apple devices. Well, they hit pay-dirt in iOS 5.1 source code, as there were a few new items found within.

As you can see in the pic above, references to a new "iPhone 5,1", iPad 2,3", "iPad 3,2" and "iPad 3,3" were all mentioned. The iPhone 5,1 will likely be the rumored iPhone 5 with upgraded A5 processor, larger 4inch display and different body style then what we saw with the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 was a device that Steve Jobs was deeply involved with, according to his Autobiography, prior to his death. It may be the last Apple device showing his level of ingenuity.
The "iPad 4,2" may be the latest iPad set to be available for Sprint, but that remains to be heard of. Since Sprint got the iPhone 4S this year, it would stand to reason they also sell the iPad for it's network. Then we have the "iPad 3,2" and "iPad 3,3". Everyone is expecting a new major revision of the iPad this coming March 2012, which seem to all point to a resolution size of 2048×1536 which has not been made before. There are also many, many upgrades that people are speculating on. Since there isn't any official information, we won't comment on it. Here's a few of the fan-based ideas for the next iPad.
