More Apple iPad 3 Images Leak Online
We saw an image of the currently unreleased Apple iPad 3 over the weekend when an image surfaced online showing us the differences within the backplate of the iPad 2 to the iPad 3. Earlier rumors about the upgraded hardware going into the new iPad 3 were suggesting that there would be a slight increase in the thickness of the casing. This would be about 1mm thicker than the current iPad 2 to make way for a larger battery and upgraded display.
The images we see here now easily demonstrate the thickness differences between the two models of iPads. The main change is about a 1.5mm difference in thickness, making the iPad 3 just a little larger. That said, it does appear the the bezel is cut at more of an angle than the iPad 2, pushing the curved edges more towards the back center and showing less of a curve at the corners.
All of these slight differences would make for the rumors we have heard about the new hardware improvements reasonable. Adding LTE connection capabilities, a 2048 x 1536 display, A6 quad-core processor and a larger battery make this a sure winner for Apple when it launches in March 2012.
