OnLive, Inc. will launch its consumer game service OnLive Game Service in June 2010. It is an on-demand video gaming service delivering, via the Cloud, the latest and most advanced games without the exuberant cost associated with this activity.

OnLive Inc. announced that the service would be made available to consumers during the last leg of E3 2010 Show (Electronic Entertainment Expo) at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 17, 2010. Initially, the service will be available to PC and Mac users with a broadband connection and a browser plug-in to access games housed on OnLive’s servers. At this juncture, there can be interaction between all players regardless of user platform.

There will also be the standard features of chat, gamer tags, friends, and user profiles. Later this year, the component that would allow playing games on television will be available and the component for other devices will follow

OnLive Gaming Service will be available to early registrants in the 48 contiguous United States with an initial service fee of $14.95 a month. This service fee will allow instant access to purchase and/or rent new release games from an increasing library of instant-play and high-end game content, alleviating the need to purchase individual gaming systems and the time as well as space required to download applications and their updates. In addition to the above, the OnLive, Inc. Web site mentioned pre-registration specials such as multi-monthly pricing and special offers being announced before the start of the E3 Expo.

This gaming service is another innovative way technology has and will continue to influence and transform the way we currently do things.
