Rumor: Apple iPhone 5 Near Production For Summer Launch

The good folks over at 9to5mac have it on good authority that the next generation Apple iPhone is very close to starting production. This comes with a grain of salt by way of a source within Foxconn who stated that there are several 'sample' devices making their way about in the company walls. The sample devices have a 4inch screen, but apparently do not have the final Apple launch design. Given the fact that these protoypes are around at a parts manufacturer facility known for putting chips inside Apple products, lends itself to the theory that these are headed into production very soon. If we know anything about production timelines from the previous couple of Apple iPhones or the iPad 2, it's that they usually need a good 4 months to ramp up enough inventory for launch. Time will tell the tale.
