Samsung is going to be making the competition for processors and graphics chips a little more exciting in 2012. They have announced the Exynos 5250, which will be a 2GHz dual-core processor, to start production in Q2 2012. This latest innovation from Samsung will be powering the next generation of many smartphones and tablets to come out in 2012.

NVIDIA has been known for leading the pack in processor innovation and support since the beginning of 2011, when we saw what it can do at the CES 2011 show in Las Vegas. The CES 2012 show, taking place in January, will showcase the latest NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip, which is a quad-core processor expected to do great things for tablet devices such as the highly anticipated ASUS Transformer Prime, and more afterwards. The Samsung Exynos 5250 will be a good competitor to the Tegra 3 processor, as Samsung seems keen on using their own hardware for their mobile devices.

Should make for an exciting year for smartphones and tablet capabilities in 2012!
