The year 2011 seems to be a good year for the big technology companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft. As a whole, I believe the technology is going to be even better for the technology industry in 2012.

To all techies and tech-hungry consumers out there, here's the rundown of the technologies to watch out for in 2012.

First, more Ice Cream Sandwich would be running on Google's latest mobile platform. Second, more of 4G LTE connectivity for consumers and tech-savvy people alike. Third, the coming out from beta of the hotly-anticipated game Diablo 3. Fourth, the rise on the use of Near Field Communication (NFC), a feature that turns mobile devices into a smart card for instant, no-frills wireless transactions. Fifth, the highly-anticipated introduction and arrival of Windows 8, Microsoft's next big version of its popular desktop platform. Sixth, the coming of the much-awaited and high-profile possible release of iPad 3 and iPhone 5. Seventh, the coming invasion of the Ultrabooks from manufacturers like Lenovo, HP, Asus, Acer and Intel. Eight, more mobile phones to carry Nvidia Tegra 3 soC (system on a chip).

In addition, Nokia and Samsung may release phones with bendable displays, a technology in which a bendable interface will let a user zoom in, zoom out and scroll around a page by simply twisting your smartphone or tablet. Also, companies such as Google and Apple may use Iris-like or Siri-like voice control to replace the TV remote. Finally, more social networks, led by Facebook, will offer automated sharing of users' Web activities.

Bottom line is, I see 2012 as a very interesting and exciting year for both the consumers and tech companies alike. We are all going to see new breakthroughs on how to interact with our portable and mobile devices, as well as witness newer and improved innovations and applications to further enhance the peoples' offline and online experience with technology.

There you go, people. Welcome to the 2012's hottest technology trends preview.
