Sage One Payroll Service Is In the Cloud
Completing payroll using the cloud? A convenience sorely to be wished. Well, software company Sage and its Dublin R&D team has made a thought reality by launching a payroll system to float in the cloud, the web-based Sage One Payroll.
According to the company website, the Sage One Payroll is a service for small companies and can accommodate up to 5,10 or 15 employees. They advertise the service for "small business owners who want to process pay runs, print payslips, and submit online to HMRC." The beauty of this system is that it requires no payroll expertise or special IT skills.
The software which flies into the cloud protected by 128-bit encryption, "automates deductions and calculations for the Universal Social Charge, PAYE and PRSI and has the ability to export data for payroll year-end reports for submission to Ireland's Revenue Commissioners."
Clients are able to easily record weekly and monthly pay runs with a 4-step process, make corrections to previous pay runs and keep up to date with legislation because of its accreditation with HMRC. The payroll cloud system can be integrated with Sage One accounts so that clients can save time and seamlessly transfer information between Sage One Payroll, Accounts and Cashbook.
In order to provide the most beneficial and utilitarian system, Sage developers consulted with small businesses to get their feedback. According to David O'Reilly, Sage's product marketing chief, "their insights fed into every element of the development of Sage One Payroll, from the design to the language used." A clever piece of engineering; designed specifically for the small business user.
O'Reilly affirmed that Sage created what "we believe is one of the industry's most user-friendly pieces of software for processing the pay run."
