42 Mobile Introduced, Till Now, for MWC 2012
After conducting a search for a suitable place for the 18 month long GSMA, Barcelona was selected as the ‘Mobile World Capital’ from 2012 to 2018.

This year, 1,400 companies from 59 countries are expected to attend the MWC, and the World seems to be preparing for the MWC as many companies are showing off their products, especially mobile phone manufacturers and providers, trying their best to attract the attention of their visitors at the Exhibitor Zone even before the MWC.
Almost daily countless new mobiles are being announced – either officially or just as rumors – and this figure is touching dozens. We have just tried to collect information about the new mobile introductions, unveils or just unofficial leaks with the news that the said mobile would be displayed or showed-off at the occasion of Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona from February 27 to March 1, 2012.
Despite our best efforts, only a limited number of news items, rather a few authentic rumors, could be collected. During the last 15 days, starting from February 10 – 24, 2012, 12 companies have, officially or unofficially, announced different mobile phones/devices, some of them specifically prior to MWC:
- Acer
- Fujitsu
- Gresso
- HTC
- Huawei
- LG
- Motorola
- NEC
- Nokia
- Panasonic
- RIM
- Samsung
The above mentioned 12 companies have introduced 42 different mobiles till Friday February 24, 2012.

Two Korean Electronic giants, Samsung and LG, are leading the mobile providers by introducing, officially or unofficially, 9 and 8 mobiles, respectively, till now while Taiwan-based HTC is the next with introduction of 6 mobiles. Nokia is going to offer 5 mobile at the occasion of MWC 2012.
Though mobile providing companies are trying their best to attract the attention of the mobile consumers and traders but still the outcome of their efforts may not appear till sometime after the release of the gadget.
What we can do is to see and wait and above all may wish success to all the participants and attendees of the MWC 2012.
