Canon U.S.A., Inc. is blasting their way into the 2012 International CES show with six new VIXIA Hi-Def flash memory camcorders.

Recognizing that many prosumers are increasingly involved in shooting videos for social media sites, the company has assured that the new line has everything customers could want when shooting video for the web.

Three compact VIXIA HF M-series models and three VIXIA HF R-series models are new for 2012. Several of them include the ability to connect to Wi-Fi and have the option of shooting in MP4 or AVCHD.

Canon tells us that these babies are capable of "unleashing on-the-spot creative video sharing and still-image uploads." In other words, if you are connected to Wi-Fi, that party is going straight to your mobile phone, YouTube, Facebook or to your DLNA compatible HDTV or game console.

Canon wants us to "shoot and share." OK...I can handle that.

A free Movie Uploader app is available that makes uploading to an iPhone or iPad a cinch. Could be a little scary if you don't think twice before putting up that footage, however. I would advise you not to drink and data transfer.

In fact, a safer avenue would be to take advantage of the fact that several of these cameras allow for direct transfer from camera to external hard-drive using an optional USB adapter. This may be a better approach if you're worried about misplaced or potentially damaging spontaneity.

On the other hand, these little guys are also great at filming family events, birthday parties and other special occasions. The kids grow up quickly, so grab the camcorder and make some memories to share with the grandparents.

Another interesting feature is the audio scene select that allows the user to pick audio settings that are appropriate for the environment such as the party we've been warning you about, a quiet walk in the Redwood forest or, well...use your imagination.

The camcorders are priced between $350 and $550 and will be available in March of 2012.
