It has been a long time since it was announced that Facebook was working on a native iPad app. Although the event announcing the iPhone 4S has passed, we finally have the release of the official Facebook app for the Apple iPad family, along with updates to the existing Facebook app for iPhones and iPod Touches.
The app is said to give special focus to the multitouch capabilities of the Apple iPad, according to software engineer Leon Dubinsky. Some of the new features include multitouch actions such as swipe, tap or pinch to move between Facebook pages and albums. Also included is functionality for Facebook games on the iPad, as well as optimization for browsing friends’ photos, updates and stories.
