Good News for Gamers: Nintendo Wii II is Coming!
Nintendo just confirmed that it will be launching a successor to its popular Wii system in 2012. The new Wii gaming system, code-named Project Cafe, promises to be more leaner and meaner than its current predecessor.
It's also rumored to be more powerful than the likes of Playstation 3 and the XBox 360.
Reports say the new Wii will have a new type of controller interface which combines the d-pad and buttons setup with a large screen. Adding a screen to a controlling system is not entirely new to Nintendo's Wii, as they introduced this concept with the Wii U earlier this year. With Project Cafe, however, Nintendo appears to be the first gaming company to develop a next-generation console gaming system to distance itself from its rival competitors Microsoft and Sony.
It's said that Nintendo company investors demanded a fresh version of the current Wii system to offset Wii's reduced sales from last year.
It appears that console-platform gaming wars is just starting to heat up! Gamers sure can't wait.
