Google, famous for its mind blowing services to the users across the world has once again launched a brilliant mobile based online payment model, named Google Wallet. Google has been testing the service since this may and now Google has officially announced that Google Wallet is ready to hit the pockets. Google Wallet is presently available to Nexus S smartphone and the only carrier of the smartphone is Sprint in the United States.

Citi is the issuing bank, and the payment network is MasterCard, which are the official partners of Google Wallet, along with Sprint as the smartphone carrier. Google Wallet comes with an offer for its early users. Google will be giving a free $10 to every user who uses the Google Wallet service during this whole year. This technique will surely help Google to grab a bunch of active users. More than 300,000 different cards are compatible with the Google Wallet and it is going to be a big hit for sure. No need to carry any cash, just use your smartphone as your wallet.

Visa, Discover and American Express and many other cards will be added to the service later on. Previously, the news said that all those users who want to use the Google Wallet in their non NFC (Near Field Communication) phones will be getting an NFC sticker that will make their smartphones compatible.  In the official launch, however, Google has not discussed anything about the NFC sticker.  So far, the user is required to have Sprint nexus S 4G Smartphone to take advantage of Google Wallet. This is perhaps not a very smart way to launch such an interesting app, but we hope it comes to other smartphones as soon as possible.

Among those merchants who are currently swiping the smartphones with Google Wallet are American Eagle Outfitters, Bloomingdales, Foot Locker, Jamba Juice, Macy's, RadioShack, Subway, Toys "R" Us, and Walgreens. Many more merchants will be added in the list in the near future.

Do you think it is going to be a big hit? It will only if it comes to a larger number of smartphones, rather than only one. We're very interested in your views about the official launch.
