Apple has been working around the clock to roll out new products in 2012. We've already seen the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, and now tech lovers everywhere can finally get their hands on the iPad Mini – but acting quickly is key. Either Apple only had a limited number of iPad Mini tablets, or the company is seeing a huge demand for the next generation tablet in the iPad clan. The iPad Mini, which has been harshly criticized, is the first major product launch to take place since Tim Cook stepped into the spotlight as the new chief executive of Apple.

As is the case with all new Apple products, consumers wasted no time in emptying their pockets to the company in the hopes of obtaining iPad ownership. Once the budget-friendly gadget was released for pre order, it took mere minutes for the white iPad Mini to sell out, leaving many hopefuls to wait an additional two weeks before being able to place their orders on that particular tablet. For now, those who pre order the black & slate iPad Mini can expect to receive their tablet by November 2.

Although the next generation iPad Mini doesn't compete with the prices of the Nexus 7 Tablet or Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Apple insists the tablet has all of the capabilities of any previous generation of iPad tablet, but runs up to twice as fast. Other features users can expect that can't be found on a Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire include:

  • Larger screen. 7.9” compared to 7.0”
  • 4G LTE Cellular Connectivity
  • Front and rear facing cameras.
  • 10.9oz, compared to 13.9oz Kindle Fire and 12oz Nexus 7
