Logitech Release Details on Upcoming Google TV Device
We have known for a while that Logitech's Revue would be the first set top box providing consumers with Google TV services, and that it would launch sometime during the fall. After a long wait, Logitech has finally released details on their upcoming Google TV solution.
The first thing to know is that the Revue will cost $299.99 and is available for pre-order immediately on Logitech's website. Included in this price is a wireless keyboard that combines the standard functions of a keyboard with those of a television remote.
The Revue will require an HDMI connection to an existing cable or satellite television box, as well as an HDMI connection to the television itself. Users will have a choice of connecting the Revue to the internet through a built-in ethernet port, or through built-in b/g/n Wi-FI.
Launching alongside the Revue are several accessories meant for use with the Revue, including a video camera meant for use with Logitech's HD video chat application that will cost users $149.
iPhone and Android users can rejoice as Logitech will also be releasing apps that allow both types of smartphones to control the Revue as well as other home theater devices. The phone apps should be a wonderful alternative to paying several hundred dollars for one of Logitech's Harmony remotes.
