Social Media Site for Drivers
We all know the world moves fast these days. It means that a great many of us spend a lot of time in our cars. It has become our home away from home.
On top of that everyone seems to feel the need to be connected 24/7. Social media sites let us share every thought that comes into our heads.
This site is based on using your license plate tag as your online profile. The site creators feel this is a natural “firewall” because no personal information is exchanged.
When you are driving if you see someone who you recognize or you want to know but there is no way to get in touch with this individual, Bump.com takes care of that. It gives you a method to communicate with people that you don’t have an e-mail address or phone number to use.
The bump system allows you to contact people by voice or e-mail messaging their firstname.lastname@example.org. If they are part of the social network they will get the message.
It is an unusual concept, but I’m not sure I really see the value yet. It might just be a way for frustrated drivers to vent at others and make sure they are heard. But who knows? Maybe I’ll be wrong and it will allow people to meet who would have just sped past. There could be some true love connections as you wait at the traffic light. (Ed. note: many states have made texting while driving illegal.)
