Sony Ericsson Equinox - Old Looks But New Functions
Sony Ericsson did it again! It has shown to the world that new ideas can bring something new on the mobile phones market, and that would be additional functions. The Sony Ericsson Equinox can now be bought from the T-Mobile.com website.
What new functions? That would be the light night effects. So, what does this actually mean? Well, Equinox allows you to setup up to five favorites phone numbers or contacts, and you can connect a light effect to each of them so that during the night, from the way the screen flashes, you can tell who’s calling you.
It’s the same principle like that when you connect a contact from your Phonebook to one of the songs you have in your mobile phone, so that when it rings, you instantly know who it is, without looking at the screen to read the contact’s name.
Equinox does the same thing, only with light flashing. These cool light effects are called Amber, Sapphire, Beryl, Diamond and Amethyst. Each of them is different from the others. The phone has a built-in 3.2 megapixels camera, 3G and GPS. You can record a short movie and upload it directly through a special application on YouTube.
The phone’s design is dull, from my point of view. When you first see it, you have the impression you have seen it before, so this déjà vu shows the fact that Sony Ericsson didn’t bring anything new on the design part. So, when will we see a mobile phone equipped with strong new applications and functions, all being covered by an amazing case ?
The only good thing, besides the light effects, is the size and space between the keyboard’s buttons and the large screen. You can easily type a message or a contact’s name without touching the other buttons by mistake. The price for this mobile phone is around $159.99 accordingly to the T-Mobile website. Would you buy new functions with old looks ?
