TwitterPeek Lets You Tweet (and Only Tweet) Anywhere

Alton Brown, inspiration to foodie geeks across America, tells his acolytes to always eschew single-use tools in the kitchen, claiming his only "unitasker" in the kitchen is the omnipresent fire extinguisher.

While you've been foolishly following his advice with your smartphones and your netbooks and your rock-AND-roll, Peek has been banking on your desire to specialize: a gadget for every occasion.  There's a Peek product for email only and one for email and texting (with monthly connection fees, natch).  And now you have the chance to own your own personal Twitter machine.

TwitterPeek just does Twitter.  You tweet; you read tweets; you tweet again.  You can see TwitPics, too, but that's if you like to live life on the edge.  Otherwise: lather, rinse, and retweet.  For $99 plus connection fees (or $199 for "lifetime" Twitter love), you can do exactly what you can do on most mobile phones right now.

As CrunchGear (and nearly every other review) puts it, that's not a lot and it's not clear it even does that well.  Power Twitterers are better off with Tweetie 2 or TwitterBerry.  And if you don't own an iPhone or a Blackberry, $200 could go a long way towards getting one.   Who knows; there might even be a fire extinguisher app in the iTunes App Store.
