Two Android Phablet-Family Members, LG Optimus Vu and Galaxy Note, Face to Face?
Making a new experiment, LG has, finally, released a new phone, which lies somewhere between a Smartphone and a Tablet; a good option for the users who want the good features of both in one. With 5-inch screen, this new smartphone aka tablet may compete Samsung Galaxy Note, the first ever smartphone a bit smaller than tablets.
The quick technical specifications of this Phablet by LG may be compared by Galaxy Note:
- 139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5mm in resolution which makes it wider and thinner than Samsung Galaxy Note.
- 5-inch (1024 x 768) IPS display with 256 PPI screen density makes the Galaxy Note winner with just 3 inches.
- Optimus Vu is operated by dual-core 1.5GHz processor whereas Galaxy Note carries a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor.
- Galaxy Note leads the Optimus Vu with the 2MP front facing camera while the 1.3 MP.
- Both the phablets carry 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash.
- Both the phablets are powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich).
- Some standard features, such as, HDMI, DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct are common.
- Stylus is also there in both the phablets while they appear to be enjoying blazing fast speeds of 4G LTE networks with A 2,080 mAh battery.
With many common features, we hope to see a neck-to-neck competition between these rivals of same family. LG Optimus Vu would be available next month but with the uncertainty of price.
A simple observer may find Optimus not so beautiful and stylish, as Galaxy Note is, but I find it a little better though the users with aesthetic senses may love Galaxy Note to be the better choice.
Let’s hope this Phablet by LG would be successful as Samsung’s Galaxy Note.
