Lady Gaga with Picture-taking SunglassesAs Lady Gaga continues to set records for Twitter Followers (over 16 million) and earnings that rank her #1 on the Forbes Celebrity 100, she has also had a keen eye for high-tech gadgets. Her interests have ranged from the Parrot Zikmu wireless stereo to Polaroid’s picture-taking sunglasses, mobile printer and camera/printer which she helped develop. Will other women go Gaga for gadgets during the holiday shopping season? A recent TechBargains shopper survey results in a strong “Yes.”

According to the latest Holiday Survey, over 50% of American women will spend more than half of their shopping budgets on consumer electronics. It is a welcome retailer trend amidst a lingering economic downturn. What will be the biggest winner this season? Although 68% of female shoppers do not own a tablet, 40% are most likely to buy one during this holiday season. Apple’s iPad2 is preferred more than Amazon’s Kindle Fire.

Yung Trang, Editor-in-Chief of TechBargains said, “The survey results show that even in difficult economic times, consumer electronics are virtually downturn-proof,” said. “While there’s a definite shift towards smart and more educated shopping, demand for the latest gadgets remains strong.”

For women shoppers zooming in on the iPad 2, there will also be another $100-$200 of accessories to purchase depending on their choice of:

  • Apple’s Smart Cover, iPad Case and/or display shield;
  • iPad Dock or Keyboard Dock;
  • iPad Camera Connection Kit;
  • iPad Dock connector to VGA Adapter (to connect to TVs); and/or
  • other Apple or 3rd party accessories.

Finally, any iPad2 buyer will want to choose their favorite applications from the iTunes Store.
