It looks like Microsoft is starting to ramp up for 2012 in hopes that the accelerated growth of the Windows Phone Marketplace combined with great new devices will give them a boost overall. We're looking at a new leaked roadmap for Windows Phone updates above, which says we'll see 2 major WP7 updates in 2012 called Tango in Q2 and Apollo in Q4. It took a fair amount of time for Microsoft to release the WP7 Mango update, about a full year after the first Windows Phone 7 device launched in 2010. They clearly want to speed up the development, meaning, they see a good future ahead for the mobile platform.

With these updates coming out in 2012, and the launch of the anticipated Windows 8 Operating System, Microsoft could be positioning themselves to have a firm placement in the mobile race.
