Chrome OS Coming In Fall
Google's vice president for product management has announced that Chrome OS will be released during Q4 of this year. This came as a surprise to the press who attended the press conference at Computex in Taipei, as they didn't expect such a major announcement.
Even so, the new release date shows that the development of Chrome OS had already fallen behind schedule and Google was working hard to get it on track for the Christmas selling season.
Also, a surprise announcement by Conduit was made today in regard to the release of a new platform that they hope will help developers of all skill levels to develop for Chrome and Chrome OS. This comes as a huge boost to Google as they are planning on launching a Web App Store brimming with millions of applications.
Also, consider this: Google's recent move to phase out Microsoft Operating systems for its employees, as Financial Times reported recently, may indicate that the company is gearing up for an explosive launch of their new operating system. Like never before, the launch of Chrome OS seems firmly placed within 2010.
